Strathspey, 32 bars
1-4 First, second, and third couples dance right shoulder gypsies with their partners (that is, dance around partner’s right shoulder 1 1/2 times, maintaining eye contact), all ending on opposite sides.
5-8 Ones, twos, and threes chase clockwise, halfway around the set.
9-16 Repeat bars 1-8, all ending in own places on own sides.
17-20 First and second couples turn partner once round with both hands in two bars, ending in the center, facing up and down with nearer hands joined. Both couples set advancing to pass each other, first woman and second man passing left shoulders (“ocean wave setting”).
21-24 First couple dance down for one bar, separate, and cast up around the threes, ending back to back in the center of the dance facing first corners, WHILE second couple dance up for two bars and cast into first place on own sides.
25-32 First couple dance “corner pass and turn” with first corners, pass by right shoulders to face second corners, and dance “corner pass and turn” with second corners (corners turn with TWO hands during the pass and turn figure).
NOTE: The first time through the dance, ones end the corner pass and turn in the center of the dance, and begin dancing around each other by the right shoulder on bar 32, continuing to gypsy as the dance begins again. The second time through the dance, ones end in second place on own sides.
